Children's Museum

We found a new toddler hot spot. The Cincinnati Children's Museum (at the Union Terminal Museum Center)! I had heard it was pretty cool, but we were blown away at how fun it was! Even Erin and I were quite entertained! Jack had a wonderful time checking out the many many activities. The two big highlights were the 'ball area' and the 'water area'. The ball pit had hundreds and hundreds of balls and all sorts of things that suck them up, blow them around, shoot them, dump them, etc... Jack is a big big fan of balls in general, so this just thrilled him! The water area included adorable little waterproof smocks for the kids to wear and was a big river of water with fountains, squirting parts, toys, funnels and more. There was also an area just for smaller kids which had an indoor play ground with a slide, sandbox, puppets, tunnels, and all sorts of cool stuff (I could go on and on!).
Bottom line is that it was a really fabulous place and anyone with kids should make the trip to Cincy to check it out!! Here are some pictures (lots...there were so many photo-ops!) of our afternoon.

This last pic is at the end of the day. Jack was wiped out from a busy afternoon of playing. We went to change his diaper (which he doesn't like anyways) and he began to cry. I gave him a cookie (to try and make him happy) which instead he just crumbled and spread ALL over himself and the room. Oh well....silly end to a great day!

Nana

Erin and I headed off last week to Las Vegas so that I could attend a medical conference and get some CME (continuing medical education) credits. We did, of course, manage to squeeze in some fun and relaxation too! My fabulous friend Becky also came and attended the conference with me. Here are a few pictures from our trip. The fountain pictures are the beautiful view we had from our hotel room at the Bellagio. We had a great time....didn't win any money though! :(

Below that.... Erin's Mom was very very kind, and came to watch Jack while we were gone. She and Jack got in some great bonding time and were best pals by the time we got home. He has still been wandering around our house saying 'Nana Nana Nana'....I think he is confused about where she went. We have posted two video clips which she recorded while she was here. The first is just some up close footage of Jack's cute little mug, the second is a goofy video of Jack just after a nap where he woke up in a silly silly mood. Thanks Nana....you are the best!

Picnic!

Over Labor Day weekend we found some time to meet up with the Heinzerling extended family for a picnic at a park in Kettering. Mom, dad, Jess, Sam, Ben Heinzerling and his lovely wife Gaby, their mutual children Anny and Dany, Sherry, Sallie, Ann, Kristen, Tom, Maia, dogs Lola and Lily, Erin, Jack and I all had a wonderful feast and fun playing. We celebrated the birthdays of my dad and Jessica with yummy cake. The boys played frisbee, the kids enjoyed the playground equipment, and even the dogs took a turn going down the slides.

A few of my favorite pictures below include Jack having a grand time playing in the dirt...such a BOY. He even tried to eat a little...yum! Also, some classic attempts to take pictures of the group of children. First Maia was trying to get up, then Jack continuously tried to escape....Sallie, Sherry and Ann made all sorts of noises and entertainment to get the kids attention (see last picture), yet instead Jack just looked at them all like they were absolutely crazy. The picture of Dany holding onto Jack's shoulder while he has a 'what the heck' look on his face just cracks me up! Oh....and absolute favorite is Sherry doing a 'Pole dance' ...whoohooo!

15th reunion!

We were all home over Labor Day weekend to celebrate my 15th high school reunion! Goodness...where did the time go!?! It was an action packed weekend and LOTS of fun. I was in charge of planning some activities to help entertain the many kids present at the picnic we held on Saturday afternoon. We had a "Sparky" egg hunt, a water balloon toss, and sack races as the highlights. It all went really well and was so fun to see our offspring playing and running around! Here are a bunch of pictures from the event....

I do have to give some shout outs here too. A big special thanks to Jess and Sam for REALLY helping me SO much at the picnic. Sam was the body inside the Sparky costume (which was smelly!) and Jess was key in helping to corral all of those kids! I couldn't have made it through the day without them! Also...thanks to Kristen who was the master planner in charge of the reunion...it was wonderful and she did so much work! Finally, to my dear husband who also helped laboring over the grill to help Tom make all of the food, as was also just generally kind to put up with our reunionizing.
