Visit Up North

Our little family decided it was time for a visit up to see Nana and Poppa, Uncle Chris, Aunt Leigh Anne, GiGi (great grandma), and cousins Hunter and Makayla. Jack went for his very first plane ride! Jack and I flew while Erin and Lola drove with all of our stuff. His first flight went pretty well once he learned the excitement of the overhead lights and the window shade. (a little help from an Elmo DVD too!) Our only problem was a fitful kicking of the seat in front of him, sending a fellow passenger to look for another seat (luckily there were plenty!).

We had a great time playing and spending some quality family time together! We had great weather, lots of good food, and FUN! There are a lot of pictures, so I will add comments as I post....

Makayla and Jack instantly connected and played and played. Makayla was very patient and sweet, putting up with a 16 month old's wild ways.

We had a big adventure and went out to a local horse farm. There were tons of beautiful horses to see. We started first by feeding them some carrots.

Makayla decided to be super brave and got ready to ride a horse. She had to wear a helmet of course.

Family shot. Erin and I were lucky to have a few excellent babysitters and got to leave for the night to go into the city to see some of Erin's friends. We went to a comedy club and out to dinner. It was great to have a night out in Toronto!

Jack still doesn't like to sit still for much of anything....especially pictures.

The next day we spent some time at the Gair's house. Erin's friends Charlie and Mike were there with their wives Shelley and Aimie and parents Pete and Marijke. Jack got to meet Mike's daughter, Audrey. They connected over some balls and Jack was excited to play with a lot of new toys!

HALLOWEEN

Jack was a super star (or super puppy!!) on Halloween. The few times the week before Halloween that we tried on the 'head piece' of his halloween costume he tore it off in a few seconds and fussed. On the actual night he was the cutest little puppy dog I have ever seen....he left his puppy head on for hours...ears flopping in his face and all! He had a great time walking up and down our street...all the while munching on a lollipop. He was a tired, sticky mess by the end of it all, but really was such a trooper! Grandma and Grandpa were also nice enough to drive down to help us pass out candy and watch Jack. It was a great night...
Here are some pictures of our Super Puppy. There are also a few of his neighborhood pals, Natalie and Charlie, who were also having a great time!

Poppa and Pumpkins

The week before Halloween we had a short but sweet visit from Erin's dad, aka Poppa. It was great to see him and catch up on all of the latest news up North! Jack had a good time showing Poppa all of his toys (especially the balls!). Thanks for stopping in for the night Poppa, it was great to see you!!
Later in the week we got busy and carved our pumpkins. We did have a little one for Jack, but it mysteriously disappeared from our porch (possibly a neighbor child couldn't resist taking it home). But, Jack still helped me and Dada gut our pumpkins out. We did the actual carving after he went to bed and he was pretty impressed with our work when he saw the finished project the next morning.
