Charlie 3 months old

Charlie is starting to show his adorable personality more and more.  At three months old he is really finding his voice.  He loves to just babble and babble.  He is the perfect prototype for the 'goo goo gaa gaa' baby...those being some of his favorite noises.   He was also learning more and more how to use his hands.  Starting to reach out for objects.  He is also SUPER smiley.  Just look at him with a smile and you will almost always get a bigger one in return.   Here are some of the pictures of his three month photo shoot.   He is showing off some of his grins.  LOOK at those cheeks!!

Halloween and More

I promise to catch up here...  Goodness where did the past three months go!?!

Halloween was super fun this year for Jack. Once he figured out that all he had to do was dress in a costume and random strangers would give him candy...he was HOOKED on the concept of Halloween.   He proudly chose to be a fireman this year.   He was a pretty darn cute little fireman too!  
He got multiple chances to go trick or treating!   The first was at a local park where they had 'trunk or treat'.   Old cars all parked and the owners passed out candy to kids as the walked by.   Easy candy score!!!   He then went again in Kettering on October 30th and one final time in our neighborhood on the 31st.   We STILL have a bowl of candy at our house!     Charlie was not so impressed with the holiday.  He was a bit annoyed at his stuffy monkey outfit and bummed we didn't give him any candy.

We made our annual trip to pick out pumpkins.   This is the spot where they have the 'How tall this Fall' height chart that we have done the past two years.   Jack is growing by leaps and bounds.  Charlie wanted no part of being measured....but we got a picture anyways.    We then of course carved our pumpkins.   Jack thought that pumpkin guts were really gross, but he was super impressed when we put lights in the pumpkins and looked at them all in our dark laundry room closet.  He wanted to stay in there for an hour!

There are also a few pictures here of an outing we made to Berger Farm for their halloween festival.   The kids had fun on the rides and on our hayride to the pumpkin patch.  

It was a REALLY fun fall this year!

Sledding!

We were hit by the most recent 'Storm of the Century' the other day (about 6"). We felt Jack was ready to graduate to real hills for sledding after some training in the front yard. He had an absolute blast, and no amount of speed was ever fast enough. Looks like we have a little adrenaline junkie on our hands.

Here's the back and forth I had with Jack last night. The wah wah wah sound is supposed to be him crying, but Stephen Hawking voice doesn't emote very well.

Movie Fun

Anyone familiar with our life will remember our fun story about the baby mouse in our couch. I found a website that allows you to recreate these moments in movie form. Expect more of this, and please enjoy.

Yikes!

Boy, they do grow up fast, don't they? Many thanks to Lawrence for putting this together for us.

Fun at the Farm

In 2009, we discovered Blooms and Berries Farm, and decided to make a yearly trip there. It's a wonderful place, with all sorts of fun activities and games for the kids. Jack had an absolute blast, and we can't wait for next year when Charlie can get involved as well. Anyone in the Cincinnati area should really check it out sometime. A huge bonus this day was the 80 degree weather.

Charlie is TWO months!

My newborn is growing up too fast!! He is certainly no longer a newbie...he is turning into a big boy! We had his two month check-up at the doctors office and he is now 12 pounds 14 ounces! That means he has doubled his weight since birth. He has also grown almost 5 inches! Needless to say, he LOVES eating!
In the past two weeks his personality is really starting to shine. He is a super smiley and happy baby. (well, most of the time!) He is really responding to people, faces, and noises. He almost always wakes up with a big grin and each smile and coo just makes me melt. He still hasn't quite mastered the skill of putting himself to sleep and evenings can be a bit long doing the repeated ritual of rocking, bouncing, and nursing until he finally gives it up. He makes up for it by taking some great, long naps during the day. We also forget the lack of sleep when he looks at us with his beaming face!
