We are so excited that spring seems to finally be on its way. We have been playing a LOT outside and Jack has been staying up a bit later. Erin has been working very hard on our new basement bathroom. We had a contractor put up the walls, but Erin has done all of the painting and tiling. He has put in a lot of tiling hours, leaving me with lots of extra time with my favorite boy!
This post is a bunch of random pictures over the last month or so.... None of them too exciting, but a little update on life around here....
Jack is getting so big! His vocabulary is expanding by leaps and bounds. He can count to 10, knows most of his colors and is working on the ABC's. He blows me away with the new things that come out of his mouth. Today he turned a toy over and said 'it's upside down'. Just one of the 100s of words that we never really taught him or explained, but he picked up. His all time favorite phrase is still 'play basketball'. He wakes up randomly at 3am and asks us to play basketball. He shoots at least 100 baskets a day.
Well, here are some pictures....I'll explain a bit more as I post them...
Going back a month to my birthday. Jack has a super sweet tooth. Three of his favorite words are candy, sucker, and ice cream. Here he is eating all of the icing flowers off of my cake.
He loved singing happy birthday. I think we sang it about six times.
He also enjoyed blowing out the candles. His birthday should be FUN this year!
This was an extra special nap one afternoon. Instead of crib confinement he just passed out on Grandpa. Looks pretty cozy to me!
This was an afternoon outing Jack and I went to one day...the Entertrainment Junction. It is a huge place with more train tracks and model trains than I have ever seen. They also have a huge play area for kids which was great. I didn't get many pictures because it was just the two of us, but here are a few...
Standard basketball has gotten a bit boring for Jack. He now tries all sorts of strange things to make it more challenging for himself. This includes making baskets with his eyes closed or from behind the basket or from laying on the floor. Here he wore Erin's hat for a good 15 minutes, trying to make baskets with the hat over his eyes. Silly kid.
We found another local gem. It is a huge indoor playground for kids. They have slides, swings, trampolines, mini roller coasters, and of course....a basketball court with multiple hoops. The best part is that it is FREE three mornings a week. It's was a great find for the end of winter!
To get out of the construction zone house Jack and I spent a weekend up in Dayton with my parents and uncle Jess and Sam. We had a great time. We went to parks, fed the ducks in the river, and even made a great trip to the Boonshoft Children's museum. It was a very fun weekend!! I didn't take hardly any pictures...but here are a few from some fun cart rides with Uncle Sam...
Jack once again demonstrating his enjoyment for cooking and especially for making lots of noise banging on bowls and pots.. He loves to get out every single bowl in the cabinet.
And finally, Jack's new silly habit of enjoying inviting his animal friends to dinner. This particular meal was watched by dinosaur, doggie, and piggy. He often gives them bites which is pretty cute.
