Mr. Personality

We've really noticed Charlie's personality blossoming in the last month or so. He's becoming very expressive, and is starting to 'get' the world.

Last night we were eating dinner outside and Jack spilled a glass of water right in front of Charlie, who proceeded to have the best time with the spill.

Charlie Eight Months!!

My BABY is growing up SOOO quick!  I sat in his room as he was sleeping the other night just looking at him in amazement thinking how big he has grown!  He is a BIG boy!  During his 8th month he has mastered the army crawl.  He pulls with one arm and pushes with the opposite leg.  He has it down to an artform and makes his way around the house with no problem.   He seems to be following in his brother's footsteps and especially loves to chase a ball around the floor.  He is babbling a lot!  He has SIX teeth already.  We are struggling a bit with getting him to eat anything 'solid', but day by day he is getting better. He does love his liquid and will chug a bottle faster than you can say the word.   He started clapping more and more and has perfected raspberries with his tongue.   He HATES loud noises and if we happen to be sharply speaking to his brother he will often start crying too.   He is quite fond of pulling Lola's tail and playing with her collar.  He has turned into a fabulous sleeper!  Most nights he is down for 10-12 hours without a peep.  When he is well rested and fed he is a SUPER happy baby.  His eight month photo shoot captures his adorable smile and delight with the world.    In my opinion he couldn't be ANY cuter!

Catching up with Spring 2011

Oh my goodness I am WAY WAY behind on blogging.  I won't go on with excuses, I am just going to POST.   I think it has been about two months.  Oh where does the time go.
Erin and I did go on a fabulous vacation back to the spot where we met, St. Maarten!  Erin's parents came down from Canada to watch the boys.   I know they had a great week and Erin and I had an amazing time relaxing and unwinding without kids!  :)   The other 7 weeks I cannot really account for except to say that life with two boys is BUSY.

I'll add a few captions to the pictures below to explain what was going on at the time.
These boys are growing at lightening speed!  I'll expand on Charlie during my next post of just him at eight months.
Jack is getting smarter by the minute.   His latest 'thing' is the alphabet.  He is kind of obsessed actually, not that I am complaining!  He knows all of the letters, their sounds, and is now on his way to reading and spelling.   He can spell about 20 words at this point.  His favorite is one Grandma and Grandpa taught him, C-A-N-D-Y!   He spells out half of his actions.  Mom, I am going to G-O over here.   He is spoiled by lots of fun alphabet and letter writing games on our iPad.  He can sit for a good 30 minutes working on his games.  He can write his name, but often gets the letters out of order on the paper.   He is getting excited to turn three and loves to hold up his three fingers and tell you how old he will be.  I keep telling him to stop growing up.  This morning he replied, 'Mommy I am going to grow up just a little bit more and then I will stop for you, ok?!'   He still likes going outside to play whatever sport he can.  He got his first black eye when a neighborhood kid was playing with him and accidentally shot a hockey puck right into his face.  OUCH! He is into singing songs when he is in the mood.   He will happily pee on the grass outside, but not so much in the potty.   He has been moved up a notch in school to the Whale room!  This means new teachers and a slightly new schedule, but so far he seems to be doing great with the change.  I keep asking him where his spout is located and he keeps telling me, 'Mommy I am not really a whale, I am Jack Yeatman.'   He cracks me up.

Here are some pictures from the last few months.

Brothers banging on a drum together.

Our first picnic of the season.   Jack and Daddy playing some soccer.
Jack eating watermelon, Charlie eating Sophie the giraffe.

Jack was bringing me over a lovely dandelion he picked just for me!

Gotta love naked babies!

Jack has really started to play with Lola a LOT.  He loves to play tug of war.  He will carry a treat around for 20 minutes as she chases him around the house.  Sometimes he gets a bit rough with her, but she puts up with it amazingly well!   They are cute together.

Time to dye Easter eggs!

Jack stopped in the middle and ate one of the eggs.

Charlie was helping with the chores.  He loved the broom.

Charlie is becoming more and more adventurous and FAST.  Turn your head for 20 seconds and he will have crawled across the room.

Easter Morning at our house.  Yeah, the sun wasn't even up yet.  Jack was pretty excited to see that the Easter Bunny did indeed come to our house.  (he had already been lucky enough to celebrate Easter about 3 times prior to this, but was still happy to get even MORE Easter goodies)

Yum, chocolate egg at 7am!

I ran in the Flying Pig Marathon as a relay with my two cousins Amy and Lisa and my sister Jess.  The day before the marathon there was a Flying Piglet run.  I signed up Jack and Charlie.  In retrospect the event was a bit chaotic and nuts, but Jack and Charlie both got their well deserved medals!
This is Jack with a dog that looks like his best friend/lovey Shorty. Jack was so excited to meet 'Big Shorty'!

Pre-race SUGAR, an icee with Grandpa

Charlie did the Piglet crawl!  There was a woman announcing the start of the races and she was yelling into a megaphone right next to us.  Charlie was startled by the LOUD noise and started to cry.  He spent most of his race crying as the lady continued to yell in that darn thing.

On Mother's Day Jack, my mom and I went to the Krohn's Conservatory butterfly show.  There were 100s of beautiful butterflies all over the place inside a greenhouse full of beautiful vegetation.  It was really neat.  Jack really got a kick out of seeing the butterflies.

He was showing Shorty all of the pretty butterflies.

One landed on Jack's flower and he just held it so still and tight while he stared and stared at the thing.  It was pretty cute.

My two cute boys!  I couldn't be a happier mother!
