Fall Farm Fun

On one of my days off we headed to another local farm called Blooms and Berries Farm. They had tons of activities scattered around for little kids. We were there on a weekday, so it was pretty quiet and Jack had his run of the place. Jack connected with more goats (I think he thinks they are weird looking dogs because he has no fear of them at all and loves to feed them grass as if feeding Lola a treat!). Jack spent quite a bit of time sending little pumpkins down their pumpkin shoot. He got to try his first round of mini-golf. They had two fun slides, a hay-maze, and of course lots of pumpkins. It was a fun afternoon....here are the pictures. Please note that his shirt did start off DRY in the first pictures...by the end of the afternoon the drool had him soaked!

Chuck E. Cheese

Sorry we've been slacking off lately, but we'll be catching you up with what's been going on as quickly as possible.

A couple of weeks ago, we decided that Jack was ready for his first trip to Chuck E. Cheese. We were really excited, as Stacey and I hadn't been there since we were little kids. It's a little different now, they don't have the animatronic band anymore (boo!), but they had lots of games, video games, and enough flashing lights to keep Jack very entertained. We even got to meet the head mouse himself!

He had a lot of fun eating pizza, fries, chicken wings, and dipping celery into the blue cheese dressing. Plus, he got to play Skee-Ball! Maybe one day, he'll be as good as his mother.

In the next few days, we'll post about a trip to a fun farm, a surprise visit from Poppa, and of course Halloween.

Fall Festival

We made our second annual trip to the Burger Farm Fall Festival. This year my parents joined us and we all got to enjoy the merriment of pumpkins, goats, a puppet show, ice cream, and dancing pumpkin heads (to list just some of the activities offered!). Jack was especially entranced with the puppet show (at least for 10 minutes and then attention span was lost) and with the wiggly tails of the pigs in the pen. He discovered straw for the first time and also was pretty happy to throw around his little pumpkin like it was a ball (he also tried to eat it on the way home like it was a apple...yuck). We all had fun watching the wonder and amusement on his face.

To top off our exciting afternoon at the festival, we then headed to watch Dada play hockey! It was Jack's first exposure to a hockey game and he was pretty impressed. Erin even scored a goal for his little boy! He loved the Zamboni and loved all of the action of the game. He repeatedly screamed out DADA!! It was great...I think we have a future hockey player for sure!!

Here are the pics from the whole day...

GROWING up!

I have a bunch of pictures to post from a fun trip with Grandma and Grandpa to this year's fall festival at Burger Farm. I'll post them asap, but for right now I couldn't help but put these two up. This is a side by side comparison of fall 2008 and fall 2009...almost to the exact day. I am in shock by how much my little man has changed in one year! It's amazing!!!

Fall is coming!

In the past few months Jack has really become an 'outdoors boy'. He loves going outside to play. He goes to the front door, backdoor, and windows and says 'side, side, side'....'Mama Dada side, side'. He begs you to go outside with him. It has been on the cooler side here the past few weeks, but that hasn't stopped us yet from spending some time in the great outdoors.
Here are some pictures where Jack was discovering fall leaves for the first time and then playing fetch and chase a stick with his best buddy Lola.
