Charlie post

Charlie is not spouting out the crazy thoughts of his brother, but is certainly coming along well with his talking.   Today I clearly heard him count to five.  He also is really into singing.   He has a very very cute version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  I need to catch it on tape.  He sings the whole song and then claps for himself at the end each time.  He is also doing some great attempts at singing the ABCs.
He continues to be quite technically aware.  He loves ipad games and also is somewhat addicted to youtube.  He likes watching all of the animated nursery rhymes and songs.  The twinkle twinkle song has 117 million hits and I think we are at least a 1000 of them.
One of his other current fascinations is shoes.  Any shoes around the house he loves to put on and wear, from Jack to Daddy size (some of Mommy's too).
He is no longer putting up with any crap from his brother, and now is often the one instigating the wrestling.   They are such boys....
He is still my baby and loves to rock and snuggle with his tag blankies...I secretly hope this phase never ends.

Jack speak

I just had to write down somewhere permanent some of the words that have come out of this boys mouth over the last few weeks:

-  "Mommy, when is your baby going to hatch!?"  (we had been reading books recently about Easter chicks and dinosaurs hatching from eggs)

-"Mommy, why is the Earth round?!"  and "how does the sun know when to come up?"

-"Mommy, how does food get passed your uvula?"

-"I think we have enough sugar here to feed the whole Earth"  Said after we did use up some serious amounts of icing and sprinkles decorating teacher appreciation cookies.

-Said about a million times a day, "Mommy, where's Hamm" or "This extra piece of candy is for Hamm" or "Hamm did it."    (Hamm is pictured above, it's the Toy Story character pig...we got it for Jack in the middle of a Toy Story craze about 4 months ago and he really hasn't put it down since...it's his security pig).

"Maybe when I am 4 I will listen, 3 year olds don't know how"

Baby #3

Just had to post a few ultrasound pictures.  Baby #3 is due July 20th.   I am already 24 weeks along.  Feeling lots of baby kicks and a growing belly.
We have already picked out a name....Thomas Malone Yeatman.
Can't wait to meet you Tommy!

Easter FUN

I am officially the world's worst blogger.  My last post was over six months ago.   Looking back today at all of the pictures and events since then left me overwhelmed.   I am still hoping to back track a bit and put a few past events up.  (Charlie's first birthday being MOST important).
If it is any excuse, we have been very busy.  In November of last year we found out the VERY exciting and unexpected news that we will be having a THIRD child.  This set off a series of events which has included buying a new home, selling our old and moving.  We just needed a bit more space. We are slowly getting settled into our lovely new neighborhood, but has been BUSY!
The two boys are always on the GO, which also doesn't leave that much downtime.

I have to start somewhere to get back on track, so how about the present.  These pictures are from the last few weeks leading up to Easter.   We have had our share of illness in the house in March.  We each got a pretty yucky virus that caused fever, sore throats, red eyes and crankiness.   (see picture below of Charlie with Grandpa looking rather ill).    But, time has healed us all and Easter came with everyone feeling pretty good.

We got a chance to dye Easter eggs, which was a pretty big mess, but fun.  Only one sole egg survived without being cracked.
We also had a VERY fun day up in Dayton with Grandma and Grandpa, Jess, Sam, Emma and the Fischer family.  We went to the NCR brunch and then to the Fischer house for the annual egg knocking game.   Carol spoiled the boys with tons of FUN Easter treats.   We all had a great time.  It was a beautiful day.

Jack took about 30 pictures of himself with the iPad, so I turned them all in to a fun little animation.

South Carolina FUN

For a whole week in July we loaded up drove down to the beautiful Lake Keowee in South Carolina to stay at the amazing mansion home of the Heritage family.  My dad worked very very hard to help them design, build and decorate this gorgeous home and they were generous enough to share it with our family.
We had a great week of adventures and fun.   Jack fell in love with the house and the area.  There was a really neat 'bunk room' for kids that had a loft and cottage house, games and bunk beads.   He thought it was the coolest thing ever!
We went for lots of hikes, picnics, waded in streams, played LOTs of games, ate tons of roasted marshmellows and even rented a boat for a day and went tubing.
Here are some pictures from our great week.

Charlie didn't waste any time checking out the place

Aunt Jess and her growing belly!

It's a BIG BIG house!  Here we are playing croquet.

Jess and Jack spend some time playing on the ipad.

One of our many hikes.  Jack was leading the pack!

Jack spent a lot of time throwing water balloons of various balconies.  This is the highest one and was quite exciting to throw it over and watch the big SPLASH!

Erin tried to catch it!
beautiful view from that balcony

Jack had a BALL getting his mommy soaking wet.  Look at the devious look on his face!

Watch out I have the hose now!
Our first marshmallow roast.  YUM!

yummmm....sticky

Another hike.  This time we got IN the water.  Jack thought hiking up the creek was SOOO fun!

Our boat ride!  HI Charlie!

We stopped at a cool waterfall.

HI Charlie!  He was really into waving that day!

Mommy on the TUBE!

Jack was very brave and came out with me.

Even going at a decent speed he really liked it.

Sleepy baby being soothed by Grandpa

Jack helps Daddy drive the boat.

Our weenie roast!

We went out to a nice dinner at the ClubHouse.  Look at Jessica's baby belly!

The boys starting acting super goofy.  Jack was making Charlie laugh and laugh.  It was very cute.

Making some brownies.

Jack showing off his rocks.  He found quite a few beautiful rocks on various hikes we went on.

On the way home.  A GREAT time was had by all.  Jack has asked numerous times since when we are going back!
