He has some strange quirks. He still loves tags. He insists on wearing his pajama pants backwards each night so that he can touch the tag. He likes to hold small things in his hand. He will latch onto an object like a small ball, coin, rock, or whatever and will literally hold it in his hand for days on end. He even wants to sleep with something in his hand. It's kinda strange, but makes him happy so we let him do it.
He hates going to bed and thinks of some great excuses why he should stay up a bit more. He is trying to give up afternoon naps all together.
He is finally potty trained! It took awhile. We kept asking if he had to go and he would say, "but mom, I'm not potty trained yet." Then one day he just did it. He has been in undies since.
He still loves to run around naked and he has a special 'naked dance' that he will show off to anyone who will watch. (which essentially just involves shaking his little bum) No modesty at all.
Eating takes way too much time and sitting still is no fun. He has much better things to be doing. It is a struggle, but we seem to get enough into him to keep him growing. If we let him choose his diet would consist of fruit snacks, juice boxes and jelly beans.
He still likes sports. Baseball seems to be his favorite at the moment. He likes to hit balls off his tee and does a pretty good job. He is not quite as into basketball as before.
He still goes to pre-school 3 half days a week and loves it. The teachers are always commenting on how smart he is!
He loves money. He has two piggy banks (baby gifts) and loves to empty them, count his money and then fill them back up again. He gets a huge kick out of taking a quarter to the grocery store and getting a treat on the way out from one of the quarter toy/candy machines. This helps ensure he is very well behaved while shopping.
His favorite TV show is still Caillou. Mickey Mouse Club House, Cat in the Hat and all Leap frog movies are also popular. He still will not sit still for an entire full feature movie, but is getting close. If you let him he will watch the burping scene at the end of Monsters Inc. about 15 times in a row.
Well, that is a decent summary of Jack Yeatman at three years old. Sorry it was long. I typed it mostly so that someday when he is 40 he can read it and smile!
His birthday weekend was packed with FUN! Nana, Uncle Chris, Aunt Leigh Anne, Hunter and Makayla came from Canada to help us celebrate. Jack adores Makayla and badly wishes she lived closer. They had a great time.
He wanted a firetruck birthday cake and with the help of my parents we pulled it off. He loved it, so I was quite happy.
I'll stop typing now and post some pictures.....
All three of them mesmerized by an ipod |
These are the cupcakes I made for Jack's birthday at school. |
Jack's family party was on the weekend, we still had to celebrate his actual birthday DAY. He got an ice cream cake for desert. |
