Avengers Assemble- JACK IS FOUR

How in the world is it possible that my first born has turned FOUR already!?  The time has flown.  Jack had a super fourth birthday.  It was spread out over a good week or so.   For his actual birthday he got to take Avengers cake pops to school for his class and we had an ice cream cake at home.

His birthday party was a big bash this year.  His first party where he got to invite all of his friends.   He chose the Avengers as his theme.  He is pretty into super heros right now.  We had a great turn out.   All of his closest friends from school came to the party.   It was a super hot summer day, but luckily we had some cooling mechanisms.  The best being a big bounce house with a water slide and water cannons.   Combine that with lots of water squirting devices and a water ballon fight (Grandpa lead the action here as you can see below) and the kids were wet and cool.   We also rented a snow cone maker that was a super hit.
He covered his ears during the happy birthday song, but didn't shed any tears this year.
He was spoiled rotten with presents and he loved every minute of it.   It was a great day and he was a very happy kid.

Jack at age FOUR-  He is growing by leaps and bounds.  At his four year visit he was 40 inches tall and weighed 33 pounds.  That makes him about average height and still supper skinny.   He can still easily wear a size 2 or 3T shorts...my little bean pole.   Dinner is a dread for him.  Sitting down to eat is such a bore.  He loves to climb and jump.  Our couch and coffee table are a spring board and mountain in his eyes.  When awake he rarely stops moving or talking.
He is still enrolled at the Goddard school in Anderson.  He has had some wonderful teachers there and met great friends.  Most recently, Miss Wendy and Mr Mike as his favorite teachers in the preschool class.  He will now be moving up for the next year to Pre-K.   His best buddies are Logan, Wesley and Brady.
He loves super heros.  Captain America seems to be a favorite, closely followed by Ironman, Hulk and Spiderman.   He also loves Transformers and Rescue Bots.   He walks around our house singing the theme song, "Rescue bots, roll to the rescue".   He likes to pretend play with all of his superhero figures.   Heatwave the rescue bot is always helping to put out fires at our house.   He has gotten pretty good at entertaining himself when he has a few good toys to interact with.
He can play outside in the sandbox or on our playset for quite awhile.  The sand box becomes a construction site and the playset a rocket ship or pirate ship.
Current favorite TV shows are Animal Mechanicals and Rescue bots.   He also still really likes watching all of the Toy Story movies.
He loves spending time on the iPad.  He likes the games which make him solve a puzzle of some sort, like Swampy and Where's Perry.  He also likes to build and create on various apps, like the 'create a car'.
He is in constant question of the world and how things work.  He loves to read books and always comes up with great and interesting questions surrounding the stories we are reading.  Dinosaur and pirate books are always a favorite.
He and his brother Charlie have become great buddies.  They don't always like sharing and sometimes get rough, but Jack is always trying to get Charlie to play in one way or another.   He also loves showing affection to his new little brother, Tommy.  He gives him endless kisses and tells him he is cute.   He has done well with accepting both a move to a new house and neighborhood and a new little brother this year.
His temperament is very determined and strong willed.  His brain seems to be so active that sometimes it takes quite a bit of effort to get our message and requests through to him.  He can be a disaster when tired, but mostly is a really well behaved kid.  He can also be very sweet at times and still likes to cuddle up and give out some mighty hugs.  He is very quick to make friends.  At the playground he will meet a new kid and become instant buddies.   He also has a goofy side and loves to get us laughing.
He still sleeps with his PJ pants on backwards so that he can have quick access to the soft tag to feel for comfort.   He also still relies on his little Hamm figure as a security item, but will now sometimes swap him out for a small Spiderman or Wolverine.    We have 5 Hamms.

Here are pictures of his birthday week.....
